I've had this toy (with slightly different animals) through three children. I bought it in 2003. The toy itself is wonderful with pleasing music and great visuals. Better than that, though, is the company. After storing the toy for almost a year, I took it out for baby #2. The crankshaft didn't work. I called the company and they sent me a whole new top unit for free. I couldn't believe it. It worked without problem through baby #2 and #3.

It has everything you need: 4 way movement with black & white spirals perfect for newborns, Calming night light and 20m of continuous play classical music. Converts to cribside music box

This is by far the coolest mobile. Assembly is a cinch. Colors and characters are so bright and vibrant for the baby. The black and white colors are ideal for their development. Movement is appreciated, helps give lots of dimension for the babies to look at. I will keep this mobile forever.

I'm not one to write reviews often, but I've found something that makes me want to... This mobile arrived today. I assembled VERY quickly and attached it to baby's crib. As soon as I laid her down, she was immediately drawn to it. We had a mobile that came with her bassinet that she never even acknowledged, so I had doubts as to whether she would really like this. Its been 20 minutes now and she's still cooing at it and staring!
We've not had it long, so I can't review about how long this will last or the long term quality of the product, but I can say my first impression of quality is great. The plastic seems sturdy, it attaches tightly, and the music choices are great. There is a volume control - but only for 2 different sound levels - I would have liked to have seen a dial so you could make it even softer, but the quieter level is not too too loud. There is a "nightlight" which does not have to be on while the mobile is moving - I love that, so the batteries won't run down as quickly. The mobile unit can unattach from the base when baby is older so she can press the buttons and play with the music - I love that we didn't spend money on a toy that will only work for her for a couple of months. The graphics and animals are fun and colorful and immediately grabbed her attention. It certainly doesn't work for the decor of her room, but I guess I can't have everything.

My 3 mo old daughter loves this mobile. She watches it, wiggles, coos, laughs, and even cries when I turn it off. It is the best purchase I have made in some time. It's well made with vibrant colors and great black and white details to hold baby's attention. If I could somehow affix them to numerous pieces of furniture across my home I would.
